Who we are
Stoep ("we", "us") builds, hosts and maintains websites and business email for South African businesses through stoep.online. We are the responsible party for the personal information you share with us, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
When you send us a website brief, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number, business details, domain preferences, design preferences, and any logo, photos or documents you upload.
We also record limited technical information with each brief: the date and time, the country your request came from and your browser type. We do not store your IP address with your brief.
Why we use it
We use your information to prepare your website preview, contact you about it, and, if you go ahead, to register your domain, build and host your website, and set up your email. We will not use it for unrelated marketing without your permission, and we never sell it.
Where it is stored
Briefs and uploads are stored with Cloudflare, which runs our website. Email notifications about new briefs are sent to our team's mailbox through Resend, an email delivery service. Cloudflare and Resend may process data outside South Africa under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
If you don't go ahead with a website, we delete your brief and uploads within 12 months. If you become a client, we keep what we need for as long as we provide services to you and as required by law.
Cookies and storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The brief form saves a draft in your own browser so you don't lose your answers; it never leaves your device until you send it. Our spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set strictly necessary cookies.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us at hello@stoep.online. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
